Murray was adopted in 2004 through what is now the Golden Gate Basset Rescue of California.  His previous rural home did not have a fenced yard and, like most bassets, he would wander.  His family decided Murray needed a new home when the neighbors threatened to shoot him.  Thanks to basset rescue, Murray was placed in a safe and secure home with a loving family.

At 8 months of age Bogart was diagnosed with a developmental bone disorder that caused intermittent pain and lameness.  Because this disqualified him as a "show dog", he was relinquished to the humane society.  He was deemed unadoptable and was one of the first dogs to be rescued by the Arizona Basset Hound Rescue.  He was in foster care only a short time before being adopted and by the time he was 1 year old, his illness was gone for good.  Thanks to Basset Rescue, Bogart has been a happy and healthy part of a loving family for most of his 8 years.

Angie, aka “Angela Basset”, was rescued from a fate of euthanasia at an animal shelter in 1999.  Shelter employees said she was too old and sick to be adopted.  The Arizona Basset Hound Rescue took her in, provided veterinary care, and placed her in a loving home.  Out of the shelter, Angie proved to be a sweet natured and extremely well-behaved basset.  She promoted the rescue in multiple TV appearances and was even featured in a commercial.  Angie passed away in 2003 after being diagnosed with lymphoma but will live on in her family’s hearts forever.
